About Me

I'm a transplant to South Weber.  I grew up in the small farming community of West Weber.  I have always loved small towns.  I even went away to college in a small town, Snow College, which I absolutely loved.  Ephraim has my heart much the way South Weber and West Weber do.

I met my husband Brandon at the Riverdale Walmart.  He says you can find anything at Walmart, and maybe he's right!  He was working as a salesman for T-Mobile and I was working for Verizon Wireless.  He tried to sell me a phone - which didn't work - but he did get a date, so I guess he won in the end.  He grew up in a South Weber and I still remember the first time I went to his parents house.  It was September and the leaves on the mountains were changing and I stood out on the front porch in awe.  South Weber was absolutely stunning.   I knew then that one way or another, I wanted to make my way back someday.

8 years and 4 beautiful children later, the opportunity finally arrived to live in South Weber.  We found a little lot in the greatest neighborhood to be had and it is our little slice of heaven.  Just like the bent trees in our yard, we dug our roots down deep and strong.  I love South Weber as much - if not more - as Leslie Knope loves Pawnee.

I am a homeschool mom to my four children.  Somedays I think it's a genius idea and somedays I wonder where the closest bus stop is.  But overall we really do love this unique life we have together and look forward to what the future will bring to us.

My husband and I are the owners of two small businesses.  My role is the financial side.  I am responsible for all financial matters including bookkeeping, taxes, salaries and commissions, and employee benefits. I also manage the budgets and weigh in on expenditures and investments.

As you can see from my blog, I have worked tirelessly to bring information to concerned citizens so that they can be educated on their feedback to our elected leaders.  I know going in as a write-in candidate has it challenges, but I feel I have risen above those challenges and that I would be a great voice to have on our city council.  I will continue to bring to light the situations that are confronting our city so that we can find solutions that can represent all citizens.  I believe the more sides of a situation we can see, the better able we are to confront those issues.

If elected, some things I will work towards will be to make adjustments to our code, specifically public notices.  Future developments will impact all South Weber citizens and every effort should be made to alert us of all property acquisitions and rezone requests.  I will revisit conditional use permits to make sure we, rather than developers are protected.  I will revisit our zoning ordinances to ensure South Weber attracts the right kind of development to our city in the right places.

I will watch our expenses carefully to ensure we are not overspending and that our expenses are for the benefit of the citizens.  I will also ensure South Weber residents  have the information and time to comment before action is taken.

I am an official registered Write-In candidate.  A vote for me will count!
